TIME FOR A CHANGE!
Phillip & Dorothy Pierson
Some of you will remember the story of how the Prove Me Now Ministry had its beginning. One day as we were in the process of moving from Sacramento and releasing our Church ministry, we received a letter from a blessed woman in San Francisco who had seen our last Best Is Yet To Be television program for the first time. She said we had affirmed we were going to be doing further ministering and she wanted to be a part of it. She included a check for $10,000! It was that spirit and that offering that led us to undertake our Prove Me Now Newsletter. It has blessed many, many people over the last seven years and we will forever be grateful.
We have now come to another new step in our ministry by releasing the Prove Me Now Newsletter. Each time we have made a change it has been done after much prayer work and a clear sense of rightness. We have loved being able to share our thoughts with you over these past years. But now we feel called to give all our energy to a phase of ministry we have never seriously looked at before. It is that of compiling a book or books of ideas and principles that we have used in our life and that we know can be life transforming. We are planning to make our first book a compilation of many of the articles and poems from the Prove Me Now Newsletter. It will be a happy project and we look forward to accomplishing it.
One book that we want to do is that which will tell our personal story. Our years together have been miraculous years and we have shared some of it in our articles. This book is prompted by the enthusiasm many people have expressed about “our stories.” They tell us they should be written down and so that is one of the things we will be doing. Hopefully there will be other books to follow that.
Dorothy has been our chief correspondent with many of you over these years and developed a bond of love. She has loved that part of our work and we have felt like a family member to many of you. You can be sure that even though we will not continue that, each of you will continue to be in our prayers. It has been a part of our daily prayer experience to include our Prove Me Now family and it will continue to be so.
So, thank you dear friends for your enthusiastic response and support of the Prove Me Now Newsletter! Some of you have been supporters from the very first and made it possible for us to continue through the years. We know that you have been enriched by your desire to share and to support the Unity ideas we have published. We love you all!
BREAKING THE BARRIER!
Phillip Pierson
Many of us can remember back to a time when breaking the sound barrier was a top scientific effort. Our engineers created a jet airplane that one day in October of 1947 broke the sound barrier in level flight. The pilot, Chuck Yeager was famous for piloting the plane. The barrier is when an object moves from transonic to supersonic speed. Today aircraft routinely break the sound barrier. But did you know that there was another common way to break the sound barrier by any human who cared to learn a trick made famous in cattle country? Scientists tell us that when you hear an expert crack a bullwhip you are actually hearing a sonic boom from the end of the whip! (Wikipedia)
This fact about the bullwhip brought me to an interesting parallel with the journey we are all on to break another barrier. It is the apparent barrier of our ability to lead a spiritual life as Jesus demonstrated is possible. If you asked the average person if it was possible to do this they would most likely say, “It’s not possible for the average human to do this!” But they would say the same thing about breaking the sound barrier. It is simply because they don’t know you can do it with a bullwhip and almost everyone could be capable of learning how to “crack the whip!”
This may sound a little farfetched, but the Truth is that we were all made to break the barrier of belief that keeps us from following after Jesus in assuming a life of spiritual dominion. Jesus certainly assumed this when he invited all of us to follow Him! One could dismiss this by saying it has been over 2000 years since Jesus said that and no one has done it yet. But, when you look at the “time factor” in light of evolution you realize that 2000 years is nothing. Jesus’ example and invitation is still valid and waiting for others to accept it.
Accepting the invitation and arriving is actually a process. It was that way with breaking the sound barrier by airplanes. If you take the time to read the history of that happening you find that the sound barrier was broken a number of times by planes in dives. Those dives did not count because quite often they resulted in the planes destruction or were unmonitored. To seek to break the barrier by forcing it in a dive was not the answer the experts were seeking. Likewise there have been those who have sought to break the spiritual barrier by doing everything from living a meditative life in caves to doning robes like Jesus and proclaiming their sainthood. But, Jesus called us to break the barrier in “level flight,” that is by doing it in our everyday living. That calls for a dedication beyond that of living solo in a cave!
One has only to look past the darkness and pessimism of modern news reports to find countless examples of people who are proving their ability to live elements of the Christ Life that Jesus lived. Those who live and walk the closest to these people find themselves emulating that behavior. So, one person who lives a life of love demonstrates the reality and availability of it to others. Likewise one person who is living a life of absolute patience is demonstrating its reality and availability to others. Little by little the process is going on all over our world. All the elements of the Christ life are being demonstrated by someone and others are taking it up in their lives. The day is coming when all the elements of Christhood that Jesus demonstrated will come together in one or more people and spread throughout our world.
Is this pie in the sky? It is as certain as it was that man would break the sound barrier. What we can conceive of is possible! That is a basic spiritual principle that is supported by a view of man’s short history on earth. Can we go to the moon? We did, because someone, joined by others, believed if we can conceive it we can do it. They were willing to work at it!
We bless you as you continue to feed on ideas such as we have presented here in the Prove Me Now Newsletter and work on them. As you do so you are laying the groundwork for breaking the spiritual barrier that lies before us. The best is yet to be!
THE EPIDEMIC!
We are sure that you are all aware of the tremendous program our government has launched to deal with the “Swine Flu” challenge in our nation and the world. It is a positive step in light of the history the world has had with flu epidemics. But, it brings to mind how far we have to go in putting our resources to work where it will really heal the nation and the world.
The greatest epidemic that has inflicted our nation and the world for generations of time is what we might well call the “I don’t like me bug!” The amount of damage that has been caused by this attitude is beyond comprehension. We were created by God to love and appreciate ourselves! This is not egotism, but a genuine recognition that we are children of God, and as such are wonderful. Our soul has a need for self praise and love! With it we can bloom with health and withstand all kinds of physical challenge. But, without it we are open to whatever comes along to challenge our health.
Let’s mount our personal battle against this world wide epidemic and spend plenty of time praising and loving our God potential. We will glow with the health that this treatment brings us!

A RESUME!!!
My first job was working in an Orange Juice
factory, but I got canned. I couldn’t concentrate. Then I worked in the
woods as a Lumberjack, but I just couldn’t hack it, so they gave me the axe.
Next I tried working in a muffler factory, but that was too exhausting. . .
Next, I attempted to be a Deli worker, but any way I sliced it I couldn’t
cut the mustard. . . My best job was a Musician, but eventually I found I
wasn’t noteworthy. . . I studied a long time to be a Doctor but I didn’t
have any patience. . . After many years of trying to find steady work, I
finally got a job as an Historian, until I realized there was no future in
it.. . My last job was working in Starbucks, but I had to quit because it
was always the same old grind. . . So, I tried retirement and found that I’m
perfect for the job!

WE ARE EXCITED!
We have always been involved in so many things during our years of ministry that we have never been able to make the time necessary to do the writing that a book requires. So, while we will miss the Newsletter and our association with many of you, we are excited to realize we now have the freedom to turn to doing the books we feel we have to share. Thank you for holding us in your prayers as we take up this work. We love you and bless you always!

KEEPING CLOSE IN PRAYER
Dorothy Pierson
As we prepared this special edition of the Prove Me Now Newsletter for our Thanksgiving month I remembered how many thoughts I have shared with you about Thanksgiving. That led me to look at many of them and inspired me to choose one of my favorites from the past to share with you again. This is what I wrote for the October issue in our first year of publication 2002:
“Giving thanks is a way of life! Giving thanks to God the Source is the way of the Truth student. Knowing the living, loving Presence of God as a constant companion is essential to health, happiness, prosperity and fulfillment of our highest good.
It took me quite a long time of living before I came to that point in my thinking. To really know that all activity in life is from the inside-out was a real breakthrough for me. The world of manifestation is the visible demonstration of the invisible Source in mind. My world begins in me! In my thoughts, my words, my actions – in my attitudes, my convictions, my understanding!
A few years back I began to speak an affirmation that brings me up to my highest Truth. I say, “Nothing happens to me. Everything happens through me!” This challenging word is a great teacher for me. I value this principle and I give thanks for it! I am reminded that I have a choice in my thinking. I can say “no” to the thought of blaming people, the weather, or lack of any kind for the happenings in my life. I don’t have to believe negative appearances and I can refuse harboring negative judgments in the storehouse of my mind. In other words I believe everything happens “through” me. I give permission for whatever happens by my acceptance of it. Do I really believe in the Truth that there is only God the good? If so, I must trust that good and see it working in wonderful, transforming ways no matter what happens!
Is this easy to do? Not really. It is an exercise in the building of a centered mind and as with all exercises – it must be practiced over and over. When I get into my Dorothy self and get critical for some reason or another, Phil will say to me, “nothing happens to you – everything happens through you!” And I find myself wanting to defend my criticism but I am reminded of my dedication and all I can do is say, “Thank you, Phil” and get myself back on track! (This works both ways, folks, because I remind him sometimes too! This is one of marriage’s advantages!)
I hope you like my choice for this Thanksgiving month! It has been such a joy for me to share my thoughts in the “Keeping Close In Prayer” column. I shall forever feel close to all of you who have been a part of the Prove Me Now family. I have so enjoyed sharing notes by mail with a number of you and will be blessing each one of you as we turn now to our new work. God bless you and know we are keeping close in prayer!
With loving thanks, Dorothy
The following poem was published with the article I shared and it fits so well with the theme!
LIFE’S DESIGN
As within, so without
This is what life is all about.
As without, so within,
In, where all my thoughts begin.
As in heaven, so on earth.
Heaven, the realm of all ideas’ birth.
From God’s center, the energy flows
Healing, freeing as it goes
Forth from the very core of me –
His design for my eternity!

“NOTHING HAPPENS TO ME!
EVERYTHING HAPPENS THROUGH ME!”
LET THERE BE PEACE ON EARTH
AND LET IT BEGIN WITH ME!
The Native American Indian had many spiritual insights that governed their lives. One that so many of us know is that we should never judge a man until we have “walked a mile in his moccasins.” It is a point of wisdom that should guide us all. It is a major ingredient in the unfoldment of peace on earth. Almost all of our human relationship problems are based on judgments made as if everyone had walked in our moccasins for a mile. As we grow in our ability to walk without negative judgment of others may we know that we are helping to build peace on earth. It does all “begin with me!”
LETTERS TO SHARE
As we come to this last issue of the Prove Me Now Newsletter we are very thoughtful of the wonderful relationship we have shared with all of you. We truly believe that we are all drawn together and serve the growth of humanity in a very special way. Dorothy says that on one occasion Charles Fillmore, co-founder of the Unity movement, said in referring to the Unity workers, “we have all been together before.” So, we touch each other’s lives and support one another as we grow and unfold. We received one letter this month that supports this idea in a beautiful way and we want to share it with you.
Dear Phillip and Dorothy: “Thank you for your prayers, love and support in my ongoing life on this beautiful earth. As life continues to unfold ‘in mysterious ways,’ living in Divine Trust that I am guided with each step gives me/us the strength and courage to take the next step, and the next, knowing it leads further into Light and Oneness. . . . Dorothy, I can’t tell you how moved I am by your poem ‘My Horizon.’
The message seems very clear to me and the message
is beautiful. I envision you now enfolded in so much love and light moving
to that horizon. You mentioned my first letter from California. It’s one
of life’s mysteries! I felt such a ‘connection’ at that time, I had to
write. Life really does work in mysterious ways! We have never met in
person, but we both believe that souls meet in many lifetimes. . . Although
our lives have gone in totally different directions we are still aware of
some deep connections. So I will just add this latest feeling I have. Your
new poem (at least to me) has a message in it that gives me added courage
and strength to deal with what is before me. Life is beautiful, you are
beautiful and Love is for always.”

SOME SPECIAL THOUGHTS
Although this is our last Newsletter, we will keep our mail address open until the end of the year. We want you to know that the funds we have remaining in the Prove Me Now Ministry accounts will be used to help us produce our book of compiled lessons and poems from our Newsletters. We will let you know when this is completed in case you wish to purchase one for your library or to share with a friend. We also will let you know of any further writings we develop.
Some of you may have also gone to our Web Site on the Internet over the years and appreciated that way of reading the Newsletter. We want to thank our long time friend Stu Boyer in Sacramento, California for managing our Web Site for all these years. He blessed our ministry in Sacramento and moved right with us into our next undertaking.
Thank you, Stu!
